The Anteaters won this game 80-56 over the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. It was their 7th win in a row, a streak that eventually reached 13. In this game, junior guard Jerry Green scored 23, and freshman center Adam Parada notched a double-double by scoring 16 and grabbing 15 rebounds.

Birmingham-Southern Panthers @ UC Irvine Anteaters

Women's Anteater Basketball

I went to this game so that I could see Joy as a UC Irvine cheerleader for the first time. She was great. I think UCI lost this game to the Birmingham-Southern Panthers.

New Mexico Lobos @ San Diego State Aztecs

New Mexico @ SDSU

Yeah, I remember absolutely nothing about this game. I had to look up the score from a college football historical scores website. What did I learn? I learned that New Mexico won this game 36-21 over the Aztecs. SDSU went on to finish the season with a 5-7 record. The Lobos played in the WAC Championship game, and the Insight Bowl, but lost them both. At least the ticket stub correctly identifies the stadium as Qualcomm Stadium.

Pepperdine Waves @ USD Toreros

USD beats Pepperdine

This was my first trip to Cunningham Stadium on the campus of the University of San Diego. I went to see my alma mater Pepperdine Waves play against their WCC rivals, the USD Toreros. I got a seat right by Pepperdine's dugout. When pitcher Adam Olbrychowski came in to pitch for Pepperdine, scouts crowded behind home plate to get their radar guns on his pitches. Ultimately, this ended up being a Pepperdine loss. I left a little early because there was barely any cloud cover, and I did not want a sunburn.

Tony Gwynn Classic

2007 Tony Gwynn Classic

I'm down to take part in anything honoring Tony Gwynn, Mr. Padre, and my all-time favorite baseball player. When there's two college baseball games sandwiched around the ceremony, that makes the day even better. In game 1, the Oklahoma Sooners fell behind the USD Toreros early, but came from behind for a win. In game 2, the SDSU Aztecs got great pitching to shut down the Michigan Wolverines. I went by myself, accompanied by a large bag of peanuts and another of Starburst candy. What a day!
