Pepperdine Waves @ UC Irvine Anteaters
This was a double-overtime thriller that saw the Anteaters defeat the Waves 96-93. Jerry Green for the Anteaters had a career game. He scored 41 points, which was the third highest point total in UCI history. This is one of my favorite ticket stubs because somehow it just got really beat up despite it not being treated much differently from all my other stubs.

Montreal Expos @ San Diego Padres
The Padres lost this game 2-1 because the starting lineup was no-hit. Only pinch-hits from Tony Gwynn, Dave Magadan, and Bubba Trammel were allowed by Expos pitching. Tony Armas came an out away from throwing a complete game. Graeme Lloyd and Scott Strickland relieved Armas, closing the door on the Padres.

Oakland A's @ San Diego Padres
Interleague baseball and the first time I got to see Eric Chavez in a game. I met him in 1996 the day after the A's drafted him because we went to the same high school. He promptly went 0-4 in this game. Sundevil pride right there for you. Tim Hudson pitched the A's to a 5-2 win over the Padres. Mark Kotsay came a triple short of the cycle for the Padres.

NAPA Auto Parts 500
I went to this race with my brother and my dad. It was the first time they'd been to a NASCAR race, and my second. The most memorable part of the race for me was doing the Dale Earnhardt tribute during the third lap. He was tragically killed in the 2001 Daytona 500 two months earlier. For the entire third lap, we all held a hand up with 3 fingers out. He drove the #3 car. I also remember getting a call from my dad with about 10 laps left in the race to come join him because some people next to him left. Brian and I ran almost the whole front-stretch to get to him before the race ended. We saw Rusty Wallace win the race. Miller Time indeed.

Pittsburgh Pirates @ San Diego Padres
Ben Davis, one of the biggest Padres busts ever, actually hit a home run in this game. I can't believe I was there to see it. Adam Eaton was sharp, going 7 innings just allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The Padres offense, featuring classic Friars like Santiago Perez and Donaldo Mendez, put up 8 runs against Pirates pitching. The strangest thing about this stub is the choice to put Kevin Walker on it. He was just a relief pitcher, and ended up pitching 16 games in 2001 before arm problems got the best of him.

Vancouver Canucks @ Mighty Ducks of Anaheim
This was the first time I took Joy to a Canucks game. I even bought her a Canucks jersey of her very own to wear to the game. It was a tie game late into the third period, but the Ducks scored a goal with just a few minutes to go, sending the home team's fans home happy.
