What was the worst part of this game? It was having to watch the Yankees celebrate winning the World Series. That was awful. Other than that, what a game. We took the trolley from Dad's office to Qualcomm Stadium. At every stop along the way, more and more fans got on. It felt like a party trolley by the time we got to the stadium. During the game, it was the loudest I ever remember Qualcomm getting. I guess 65,427 people can do that to a stadium. Mark McGwire, sitting front row down the third base line, made a barehanded play on a foul ground ball hit his way. I nearly caught a practice ball that Greg Vaughn threw up into the crowd. Andy Pettitte started for the Yankees and was dominant, besting the Padres Kevin Brown who was pitching on short-rest. After the Yankees were done celebrating, no one went home, so the Padres came back out and saluted the crowd.
