California 500
In 1997 I started watching NASCAR on TV and became a fan of the oval circuit. This was the first live race I attended. My favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, ended up winning the inaugural race at the California Speedway. We sat right by the start /finish line within the first 10 rows. I went with Uncle Eddie and Uncle Mike, and my cousins Mason and Alex. I remember being in traffic for hours to get to the race. It was the last NASCAR race any of them ever went to. They aren't stock car racing fans. I, on the other hand, have been to 3 more races since.
