Roger Clemens tossed a complete game and Wilson Betemit had 3 base hits and 2
RBI at Petco Park as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the San Diego Padres by the
count of 6 to 3.

Pittsburgh scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning with 3 runs using 3
hits. Mark Ellis led off and he stroked a single. David Dellucci came to
the plate and drew a walk. Betemit then doubled resulting in a run. Hee
Seop Choi was up next and he delivered a single as another two runners
scored. Pittsburgh had 10 hits for the night.

The victory went to Clemens(1-0) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Scot
Shields(4-2) was tagged with the loss in relief.
