Dave Bush came through with a solid 9 innings as the Houston Astros defeated
the San Diego Padres by the score of 7 to 1 at Petco Park.
Houston tallied 4 runs in the 3rd inning when they had 3 base hits. That
scoring would be all that was needed. The pitchers took over after the 4th
inning as neither team was able to score again.
Bush(1-0), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Dave
Williams(1-3) was the losing pitcher. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 8
hits and 4 walks in 4 innings.
'He had his 'A' game tonight,' Jesus Diaz said of Bush. 'Very impressive
performance.'
